# AMA On Spanish Elrond NFT Community

**1. Why Nuns?**

The process wasn't a straight line. We knew we wanted to be centered on art and get into art business by leveraging blockchain tech. But then we also knew we will need a character with a strong potential for awarness. Because, although people expect new and innovative ideeas from NFT creators regarding utility, the first contact is the NFT art itself. But then we wanted the character and the whole project concept to have unity.

So, first we decided that we also want to use art to put the spotlight on a message that has big social implications. And we agreed that empowering women is the right choice. So, our character had to be a woman.

Then, we asked ourselves: what are the main characteristics of Elrond and Elrond community? And we think that most of us here value kindness, respect, hard work and decency. And from this point we started to look for different categories or groups. We thought of sports, different professions. And suddenly, as any great ideea, it came out of nowhere 😄 Nuns have played an important role throughout history. Their public identity was formed by the building of schools, hospitals and providing services to the poor and vulnerable. Their habits signifies a badge of honor and a license to do good work. Nuns are well respected and welcomed members of their communities.

And there we go. We found our hero.

**2. Why 4 types of Nuns?**

Well, we know that any NFT collection is eventually broken down by the community in smaller collections centered on different traits or qualities. And we asked "Why wouldn't we create from the start 2 or more categories inside the main category? Then, considering that empowering women is one of our pillars we wanted to have more diversity and so we decided to go with 4 characters, from different continents. And each name, by the way, is iconic for each of four continents. Has a history and a very powerful resonance for that region. And I think that this decision kind of led us to the ideea of having a comic book series where we can really morph our characters in a hero tipology that will help us even more to promote messages aimed to empower women. In case you didn't read the stories of each hero Nun, I recommend you visit our site and get to know them better. Those stories are the foundation of the comic book.

**3. Against whom or what are these Nuns fighting?**

First of all, as their stories tell, they fight against abuse, prejudice and violence. Then, because a good story and good characters need a powerful enemy, we decided to take the main narrative from crypto and bring it in our story. And this is related to crypto world seen as an opposition to the traditional system. The old order versus the new one.

**4. What type of technique have you used in the elaboration of your NFT?** 

The art was made using more than one software for 3D modelling, UV mapping, texturing and drawing we used Blender Photoshop Substance 3D Painter ZBrush Marvelous Designer Premiere

For example :

For faces:

* Sculpted them in zbrush
* later exported them in Blender to retopo them,
* by retopolizing them I've got Low poly mesh
* exported the low poly in zbrush again
* after sculpting all those pore details I've baked high poly details into low poly mesh
* Did UV unwrapping in Blender manually for better ram optimization
* exported the mesh in substance painter and made Color texture and all the supportive maps (Roughness, Specular, Translucent, Scattering map, Normal map)

For clothes:

* For cloths had to do some experiments first, and figure out garments pattern for them
* Later in Marvelous Designer made those garments looking patterns, stiches them up and do cloth simulation
* After doing cloth simulation import them in zbrush and did cloth details,
* Later import them in Blender did low poly version of them, did UV unwrap
* again exported them into zbrush, baked high poly details into low poly normal map
* imported them again in Substance painter to made color, roughness, Normal and every other supportive maps

   And at the end all the items/clothes / characters were rendered at 5k quality (5000x5000). That's why the whole collection is right now at 216 GB 😁

**5. The art is spectacular, but will they have any use?** 

Of course. Our holders will directly benefit from our art related business we're developing. You can see in the photo attached our main directions.

Our holders will also benefit from the already known staking advantages. Which are coming from using: 30% from CryptoNuns mint revenues 20% of monthly royalties from CryptoNuns 20% of monthly royalties from Comic book

And also, the more Nuns you own, the bigger the chances to get a raffle airdrop for the 5 editions of the comic book that we'll give it for free. From a total of 10 Editions, 5 are aidropped.

Art business is huge. And digital art have seen an incredible growth among traditional collectors and also blockchain began to be often used.

As for Metaverse, imagine all holders being stakeholders in an online store that sells items for Metaverse. We prepare our business for the next big thing which is Metaverse.

And since we're here, I can give you kind of an exclusivity 😀 These are not only plans on paper. We already started the work on both lines of business.

**6. Regarding future staking of NFTs , rewards will be with a native token of the project or will be with new NFTs or with EGLD ?** 

At the moment we don't have in mind to issue any token. Rewards will be both in NFTs, like we already announced the comic book drop and eGLD/lkmex

**7. Will the Nuns have their own token, marketplace or game?**

At this point we didn't plan anything related to this. The market is kind of over saturated by this kind of activities and we thought wouldn't be a big differentiator. But, you know\...never say never. If we and our community will decide în the future that worth to approach these directions because is beneficial..why not? We have the technical know how for a token and a marketplace, and for a game we can partner or pay a third party to execute it.

**8.There will be different mints for the different collections of nuns? Any order in mint?**

No. And here you have another exclusivity. So, we decided to go with a 10k mint because we have not only a backup plan, but also let's call it a strategy. First, we wanted to test the strength of our project in the worst scenario. And the actual market conditions are indeed a worst case scenario. But second, and here is the news: all the unsold NFT will be burned on Elrond and we'll recreate and launch CryptoNuns collection on another blockchain. And we're thinking of Solana.

**9. I see some well-known names in elrond's NFT within your team, are associations with projects foreseen in the short to medium term?**

As memebers of the team, yes we have lots of surprises and as for partners we will try to bring more awareness to Elrond using marketing and PR. We will create a fund for that. Maybe you don't know but @esdtgems is our first collaboration togheter. In fact it was the first marketing channel on Elrond 🙂
